This website explains the Governedata method and receives enquiries about applying it. The only information it collects is what you choose to put in the contact form.
Who is responsible for your information
Governedata is a trading name of Creapsoft Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 06939188, with its registered office at Broom House, 39 to 43 London Road, Hadleigh, Benfleet, Essex, SS7 2QL. Creapsoft Limited is the data controller for the information described in this notice.
To reach us about anything in this notice, use the contact form and choose “General enquiry”, or write to us at the registered office address above.
What we collect
When you submit the contact form we collect your name, your company, your email address, the area of interest you select and the content of your message. We do not ask for anything else, and you should not send us confidential or sensitive material through the form.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use what you send us to read your enquiry, to reply to it, and to carry on the resulting conversation if there is one.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR. The legitimate interest is responding to people who have approached us about our work. We consider the effect on your privacy to be minimal, because you decide what to send us and you are contacting us by choice. You can object to this use at any time and we will stop, unless we have a compelling reason not to.
We do not use enquiry information for marketing unless you ask us to, and we do not sell it or pass it to anyone for their own purposes.
Who else handles it
This website is hosted by Netlify. Form submissions pass through and are stored on Netlify's systems before they reach us. Netlify acts as our processor and handles the information on our instructions under a data processing agreement. Once an enquiry reaches us we manage it using ordinary business email and file storage.
Where it is processed
Netlify is based in the United States, so form submissions are processed outside the United Kingdom. Those transfers are covered by the safeguards in Netlify's data processing terms, which incorporate the standard contractual clauses approved for transfers out of the UK. Ask us through the contact form if you want the details.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry leads to no further contact, we delete it within twelve months. If it leads to a conversation, a proposal or a piece of work, we keep the correspondence for as long as that relationship lasts and for six years afterwards, which is the period we need it for tax, accounting and contractual records. We delete it sooner if you ask and we have no legal reason to keep it.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it if it is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete it;
- ask us to restrict how we use it;
- object to our use of it, including the legitimate interests described above;
- ask us to transfer it to you or to someone else in a portable format, where that right applies.
To exercise any of these, use the contact form. We will respond within one month, and there is no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
